Ana Vujovic è appena arrivata per la Artegiro Artist Residency lo scorso lunedì 22 maggio a Conzano. Il suo diario della residenza ci racconterà come sta andando. La Artegiro Artist Residency dal suo inizio nel 2010 infatti, ha sempre incoraggiato questa documentazione, di aiuto agli artisti ma anche alla comunità che li circonda. Ogni domenica sera troverete alcune delle annotazioni del diario settimanale dell’artista, in inglese e in italiano.
Ana Vujovic has just arrived in Conzano for her residency last Monday 22 May and her journal entries tell you what it is like. The Artegiro Artist Residency from its inception has always encouraged such documentation, helpful to the artist but also to the community around her or him. Every Sunday night you will find here some of the artist journal entries for the week, in English and Italian.

23.05.’17 Conzano
Finalmente sono qui! Dopo più di un anno di programmazione con Renata ce l’abbiamo fatta sul serio! Sono venuta da Belgrado alla città di Nis e poi a Milano, in Italia e infine in treno fino alla mia destinazione finale, Conzano.
Questo posto è così bello! La nostra residenza così attentamente pianificata sta finalmente avendo luogo.
Sono nel posto la cui storia e la cui comunità sono state oggetto della mia curiosità e lettura già prima del mio arrivo ed è per questo che sono così interessata ad essere finalmente qui.
E le campane suonano!
Finally I’m here! After more than a year of planning with Renata we actually made it. I traveled from Belgrade to city of Niš airport and then to Milano, Italy and by train to my final destination Conzano. This place is so beautiful! Our so carefully planned residency is finally starting to happen. I’m at the place, about whose history and community I’ve been curiously reading before my arrival and that’s why it is so interested feeling to finally be here. ..and the ring bells!!

Chiesa di San Biagio e Campanile.
Questa chiesa ha rappresentato il mio primo incontro con questo paese, il mio conoscere Conzano.
La facciata in rovina dei muri esterni ha attirato immediatamente la mia attenzione. E’ un momunmento che mi ispira a tanti livelli. Adesso guardandolo di persona capisco perché volevo concentrare il mio progetto su questo edificio, ha così tanto potenziale e forse ritornerò su questa idea.
Il sole, la luce, l’aria esaltano la consistenza della superficie.
La mia nuova ossessione, il suono delle campane. Il primo giorno erano un po’ fastidiose ma adesso voglio usarle per un’opera!
Le Alpi. Le vedo.
Questo luogo, la sua gente, la natura, l’architettura: è tutto come un grande set per un film e io ci sono dentro. Mmm…

This church has been my first encounter and knowing of Conzano. The ruined facade of outer walls drag my attention immediately. The monument is inspiring in so many levels. Looking it now in person, I can see why I wanted to focus my project on this building, it has so big potential and, maybe I will return to this idea. Sun and light air emphasis the textures on it.
My new obsession, the ring bells. First day they were a bit annoying, but now I want to use them for an artwork!!
Alps. I can see them.
This place, it’s people, nature, architecture, all is like one big set up for a movie and I happened to be in it. Hm…
25.05.17 Conzano
La gente di Conzano, i Conzanesi, sono così gentili, davvero genuini, di cuore, lo vedo dai loro volti luminosi.
Siamo alla ricerca di uno spazio per il mio lavoro,che in questo caso sarà una cucina. Non ho mai usato una cucina come studio prima, ma per la realizzazione del mio progetto “sugar”, per la mia ricerca ho bisogno di una cucina. Sarei così felice di realizzare questo progetto per la residenza, avrebbe significato solo realizzarlo qui, non a casa a Belgrado.
Villa Vidua è un mondo a sé che voglio decisamente ricercare e del quale voglio fare esperienza fino in fondo.
Non ho incontrato molte persone fuori finora ma ho due parole italiane che scambio con un signore ogni pomeriggio, “buongiorno e buonasera”.
People of Conzano or Conzanes, are so kind, really truly from the heart, I can see it on their well-minded illuminated faces.
We are in a search for my working space, which in this case will be a kitchen. I never had a kitchen as a studio before, but for realisation of my “sugar” quest project, I will need one. I would be so happy to realize this project here in this residency; it would have a meaning only to be done here, not at home.
Villa Vidua is a whole world for itself, which I definitely intend to research and experience. I have not meet many people outside so far, but I have two new Italian word that I exchange with one gentleman every afternoon, buongiorno and bonasera.
